I came across this patio stoop today. The customer is looking to repair the step. I have to break the news that this step they paid good money for is failing and needs to be rebuilt. Many stoops and steps are built in the over dig area of the house which is usually 3-4' from the house. This is where the initial excavation footprint is larger than the house allowing for the forming of concrete and drainage work prior to framing. This area close to the house is disrupted soil that takes years to settle.
If you hire an experienced contractor, you won't be paying twice for a job that should have been right the first time.
